- Who runs this channel?
- This channel is owned by two guys, Alessio and Daniel, who also run a successful Italian fansite network based on famous franchises published by Rockstar Games, with www.GTA-Series.com as the "leader" site.
- What is the channel about?
- GTASeriesVideos was opened on August 25, 2007 to host all the video walkthroughs that we make to help people with GTA missions. This channel also features all the trailers and official videos released by Rockstar to advertise their games. Our purpose is to make GTASeriesVideos a complete channel for the Grand Theft Auto series and other Rockstar Games' hits.
- Do you work for Rockstar?
- No, we're just two fans of Rockstar's games who record videos and make websites.
- Who made the artworks in your video intros and your channel design?
- DeviantArt artist Patrick Brown made these GTA character artworks exclusively for our site. You can find him at this page.
Note that these artworks cannot be used in any way without our authorization.
- Where are the old walkthrough videos?
- Back in 2007, we uploaded several walkthrough videos for all Grand Theft Auto games released then. After several months we felt that these walkthroughs should be remade in order to make use of the new quality standards introduced by YouTube and, most important, to avoid copyright issues with the in-car radio music that was played during the video.
All the walkthrough videos were deleted and now new versions are available in our channel with a higher quality (or high definition where possible) and without in-game music.
- Why is the channel's name GTASeriesVideos? Shouldn't it be called RockstarVideos since you upload other game guides?
- As explained before, this channel was created to host all the videos for our fansite network, and the main site is www.GTA-Series.com (that's why the channel is called GTASeriesVideos). We decided to upload all - and just - Rockstar Games videos on GTASeriesVideos. In this channel you will not find any video that is not related to Rockstar Games titles.
- Are you a YouTube Partner?
- Yes, we got the partnership on September 2009 thanks to the success of our videos and our ever growing subscribers.
- Why don't you show cutscenes?
- Cutscenes from "GTA IV", "GTA IV: The Lost and Damned", "GTA: The Ballad of Gay Tony", "GTA: Chinatown Wars" and "Red Dead Redemption" are not shown because Take-Two and Rockstar Games asked us not to include them in these videos - probably because they were newly released or to avoid major spoilers. Videos with cutscenes are taken down by Take-Two and the user can risk being banned by YouTube.
All of these walkthroughs will be re-uploaded with all the cutscenes when Rockstar gives us their approval.
- What do you use to record videos?
- For console-based videogames we use a HD capture card (we just connect the console to the card and we register the video with the PC). PC videogames are made with a capture software called Fraps.
- Can you upload "Mafia" videos or "Call of Duty" in your channel?
- No, we will not upload any video related to games that are not published by Rockstar.
On GTASeriesVideos you will only find videos from official videogames made by Rockstar - so we also have no intention to make walkthroughs for GTA mods, like "GTA Long Night", etc.
- Will you upload more Tips & Tricks videos?
- Yes, we plan to upload more GTA Tips & Tricks videos for almost every Grand Theft Auto game.
- Will you upload "Bully" or "Manhunt" walkthroughs?
- Yes, these are part of our future projects.
- What about "L.A. Noire", "Max Payne 3" and "Agent"? Will you make walkthroughs or videos about them?
- For L.A. Noire we can't guarantee anything. The game is mostly based on real performances made by talented actors and we don't know if Rockstar will allow us to show cutscenes, interrogations, etc.
As for Max Payne 3 and Agent videos, they will probably be uploaded on GTASeriesVideos, but like L.A. Noire we can't guarantee anything.
- How do you contact Rockstar Games?
- You can contact Rockstar by going to the Rockstar official website www.rockstargames.com and use their own service called Mouthoff or you can ask directly on their pages on Twitter and Facebook.
- Sub 4 Sub?
- Not 4 Us. In our channel and videos you will not see any kind of message that asks you to subscribe to GTASeriesVideos. We simply ask other users to do the same. Just to make things clear, we will not sub anyone who asks for it, for us it just doesn't make sense. You are free to subscribe to our channel if you like our videos, and we will do the same with any other user that uploads videos we're interested in. The subscription system is made for this, it's not something you can exchange.
